Inside an ObjectInnerspace · 1 + 1 = ∞
In 2011 the drawing grounded the dance. In 2026 the dance draws back — with nothing but stroke, hatching, grey value and light.

The drawing draws back
stroke · hatching · grey · lightThe inside of a drawing as dance space: in 2011 Andrea Nagl glided through projected worlds of strokes. In 2026 the relation is reversed — movement itself becomes drawing.
Stroke, hatching, grey value and play of lines are the only means; graphite and paper alternate. Inside an Object 01, 02, 05 and 06 turned out to be the same choreography in different drawings, simultaneous — this “one and one” becomes the alternating step. Image and sound come exclusively from the 2011/12 material. No generative AI.
Chapters
long / trailer0 · OPENING · ONE LINE
A single uninterrupted line of light draws the object — one of the 2011 shell drawings — and then, without lifting, the dancer inside it.
LONG 0:00–0:20 · TRAILER 0:00–0:12

I · STROKE
The 2011 videos are translated frame by frame into hatching: stroke direction follows the image structure, density follows grey value; the strokes boil like a hand drawing.
LONG 0:20–1:04 · TRAILER 0:12–0:30

II · TRACE OF THOUGHT
Three times in one image: the past gesture as chalk hatching, the present as light, the coming movement as a dotted contour line.
LONG 1:04–1:50 · TRAILER 0:30–0:48

III · LIGHT DRAWING
Movement exposes itself: stroboscopic contour echoes (Marey) and light trails; at every cut one of the 100 light drawings of 2011 answers.
LONG 1:50–2:40 · TRAILER 0:48–1:10

IV · ALTERNATING STEP
Inside an Object 01 and 02 — the same choreography in two drawings — alternate every 0.6 seconds, positive and negative.
LONG 2:40–3:22 · TRAILER 1:10–1:28

V · 1 + 1 = ∞
A Droste spiral leads into the drawing without ever arriving; the sound falls endlessly as a Shepard–Risset glissando.

Text 2011
Markus Wintersberger · 2011- Concept, video, audio
